Football Services Officer (Competitions & Referees)

 Role purpose:

=         Support the Operational and Governance section of the County FA overseeing the Referee Registration and Competition processes.

=         Significantly contribute to the implementation of The National Game Strategy.

 

Work programme:

=         Competitions

o   Manage the Association’s Adult and Youth Cup Competitions in conjunction with the Competitions Sub Committees.

o   Work with appointments officers to appoint referees to all County Cup fixtures.

o   Act as Secretary to the County Cups Committee and Sub Committees.

o   Manage the Capital Cups programme in conjunction with local County FA’s and the County Cups Committee.

o   Develop County Cups to become more customer focused and player centered.

o   Utilise FA Full Time to manage the County Cups programme.

o   Issue fines to clubs who fail to comply with the County Cup Rules.

o   Sanction Small Sided Tournaments liaising with the Governance Committee.

 

=         Referees

    • Support all referees with registration, reporting discipline and enquiries.
    • Explore opportunities to engage and support new and existing referees.
    • Follow up with referees after completion of their course to ensure contact with leagues and support where required.
    • Appoint match officials to Middlesex FA Youth County Cup fixtures and any other matches as required.
    • Act as Secretary to the Referee’s Committee.
    • Utilise insight and data to provide a customer focused approach to recruiting referees to meet local and club demand.
    • Support the Referee Academy where required.
    • Collate information and prepare documentations for the referee promotion scheme.

 

=         General

    • Provide support to football services department as and when required (affiliation, county cups etc.).
    • Provide support to grassroots clubs, leagues and volunteers as required.
    • Support the affiliation, referee registration and competition processes.
    • Undertake daily discipline and county cups tasks.
    • Provide a service to meet the needs of customers.
    • Ensure compliance with the Association’s Health and Safety policy.
    • Act at all times in accordance with the Association’s Articles, Rules, Regulations and decisions.

 

Experience:

Essential

Desirable

Experience in an administration role.

 

Knowledge of FA Rules and Regulations.

Ideally a Senior County Referee Level 5 or above.

 

Knowledge of the grassroots football infrastructure.

Experience of working under pressure.

 

Experience of working with volunteers.

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of The FA’s National Game Strategy and the FA’s Strategic Plan.

Working experience using Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to use modern technology and champion new IT programmes.

Knowledge of the FA Whole Game System and CRM.

Ability to engage with the paid and volunteer workforce.

Knowledge of FA Full Time and Match Day.

Demonstrates a working understanding of inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination, safeguarding and best practice.

Driving licence.
